Now two souls but at what cost

I thought for a moment we could have it all 

It was the night we both sat and watched the sky fall

I fell with the stars hard and fast

Hoping the universe would let this one last

Like a wild horse my heart ran free 

Never stopping to think how much this could hurt me

You're the highest low I've ever known

You're the danger sign in my safety zone

I see our memories in piercing color

Memories that for me, are unlike any other

They play through my mind like a cinematic kiss

Reminding me in steady rhythms you really did exist

Time is a friend so sweet and so bitter

Keeping beat with my heart I feel him slow at every flutter

But fighting brings strength and strength makes a soldier

And in this game of love and war I win with the pull of a shotgun trigger

So three souls, one lost

Learning what it means to pay the cost

Now two souls, one remains ignorant 

Leaving one soul, to stand triumphant
